LA Public Library’s Van Nuys branch reopens following $1.9 million renovation

The Los Angeles Public Library’s Van Nuys subdivision reopened connected Thursday, Oct. 7, aft closing for a $1.9 cardinal renovation that modernized its interior and upgraded the library’s technology.

“Today’s expansive reopening of the Van Nuys Library is different measurement toward returning to normalcy for our community,” said L.A. City Council President Nury Martinez, who represents the area.

“This $1.9 cardinal betterment gives our students entree to a brand-new, state-of-the-art room that not lone bridges the integer divide, but opens the doorway to endless opportunities for our community.”

The library, located astatine 6250 Sylmar Ave., is unfastened from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. connected Mondays and Wednesdays, noon to 8 p.m. connected Tuesdays and Thursdays and 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. connected Fridays and Saturdays. The subdivision is closed connected Sundays.

The room archetypal opened astatine its existent determination successful May 1964, but the LAPL has served the Van Nuys country since 1911.
